Our overnight camp sits in the field behind a canal-side pub built in 1810 to serve the new Kennet & Avon, with the Alton Barnes White Horse cut into the down above it. Crop-circle country, live music most weekends, and a short roll from the stones.

Included in your tour price

Camping pitch — we bring everything

Ask for the camping pitch on your booking and there is nothing more to pay for a bed. We carry, pitch and strike a good-quality tent for you, and hand you a warm sleeping bag and a sleeping mat when you arrive. You ride, we set up camp.

Book it yourself

Bell tent, barn room or your own booking

Prefer a proper bed under canvas, a barn room, or a bed somewhere else entirely? Book it directly with the Barge Inn or anywhere you like — we will simply meet you there. We look after the bikes overnight, locked and charged, and we run you to and from your bed free of charge anywhere within ten miles.

What a bed costs

Bell tents are booked through us and added to your reservation — we reserve the tent, hold it and have it made up for your arrival, so our price is the campsite rate plus a 20% arranging charge. The other rates below are the campsite's own, paid to them if you pitch your own tent: campsite 07917 407522, pub 01672 851222. Prices can change — we confirm yours when we reply.

A bell tent sleeps two comfortably, so on the reservation form it appears at £54 a rider for the night; a tent to yourself is charged as two. Bell tents are held with your booking deposit and are refundable up to 14 days before the stay. Barn rooms are also bookable — ask us for the current rate. Dogs are welcome on leads.

The pub itself

Bar open daily from midday. Kitchen Friday evening, Saturday lunch and evening, and Sunday lunch — winter hours vary, so we confirm the food plan with them before your departure. Bands most Saturdays and many Fridays. The Crop Circle Visitor Centre is a short walk along the canal.
