Booking contract
Submitting an enquiry does not create a confirmed booking. A contract begins when Tangible Tours accepts the reservation, confirms the departure, riders and price, and issues a booking confirmation. The lead guest must have authority to provide booking information and accept these terms for the party, but each adult remains responsible for their own declarations.
Prices & payment
Prices include only the equipment, guiding, meals, camping and transfers expressly listed for the selected tour. Secure card payment is available online: a 25% deposit confirms the places and the remaining balance is due 30 days before departure. Failure to pay by the agreed date may release the places after reasonable notice.
Cancellation & refunds
Cancel 30 or more days before departure for a full refund less non-refundable third-party costs. Between 15–29 days, 50% is refundable. Within 14 days, payments are non-refundable, though we will try to transfer your place.
Weather & route changes
Normal rain and wind are part of riding in Wiltshire. The guide may alter timings, surfaces or monument stops for safety, conservation or ground conditions. If severe weather makes the tour unsafe, we will offer a transfer or full refund.
Minimum group size
Scheduled departures require at least two riders. If the minimum is not met seven days beforehand, guests may transfer, choose a private-tour supplement, or receive a full refund.
Age limits
All riders must be 14 or over on the day of the tour. Riders aged 14 or 15 must be accompanied by a riding parent or guardian who remains responsible throughout.
Safety screening & truthful information
Each rider must complete the safety questionnaire, emergency details, declarations and waiver accurately and update us if circumstances change. We retain only the identity-document type and final four characters, not a full number or scan. Missing or misleading safety information may result in refusal or removal without refund where reasonably necessary for safety.
Rider responsibilities
Follow the guide, wear the supplied helmet, disclose relevant needs, ride within your ability and respect rights of way, livestock, monuments and trail users. Alcohol or drugs are incompatible with riding.
Guide authority & conduct
The lead guide has final authority on route, speed, equipment, weather response and whether a rider may start or continue. Threatening, discriminatory, reckless, unlawful or environmentally damaging conduct may lead to removal.
Late arrival & missed services
Guests must arrive at the confirmed point by the stated time. We may be unable to delay a departure, minibus, meal or campsite arrangement. Additional arrangements caused by late arrival are the guest’s responsibility and missed participation may be treated as cancellation.
Route, monument & supplier changes
Rights of way, livestock, conservation work, weather, closures or supplier changes may affect routes, stops, transport, meals or camping. We will preserve the character and value where reasonably possible, but individual stops are not guaranteed.
Equipment damage & loss
Normal wear is included. Guests are responsible for deliberate or negligent loss or damage to e-bikes, batteries, locks and camping equipment, charged at reasonable repair or replacement cost.
Camping & belongings
The Barge Inn campsite has shared amenities. Guests remain responsible for valuables and must follow campsite rules, quiet hours and leave-no-trace practice.
Personal insurance
Guests are strongly advised to arrange suitable cancellation, medical and personal-belongings insurance covering the booked activities. Tangible Tours insurance is not a substitute for personal cover.
Our responsibility
We provide the tour with reasonable care and skill. Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, guest negligence, breach of instructions, undisclosed needs, or independent arrangements.
Events outside reasonable control
We are not liable for failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, wildfire, flooding, epidemic restrictions, transport disruption, official closure or emergency action. We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and offer remedies required by law and these terms.
Privacy, records & photography
Booking, waiver, safety and emergency information is handled under the Privacy notice. Riders must not photograph another guest in a way that compromises privacy or safety. Promotional use of an identifiable image requires recorded permission.
Complaints
Raise problems promptly with the guide so there is a chance to put them right. If unresolved, send a written complaint with the booking reference and facts as soon as reasonably possible. We will acknowledge and investigate fairly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere. If one term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue.
